Michael Yednak is a great instructor. He has a great way of assessing what the player needs to work on and has a great way of conveying to become a better pool player.

I’ve taken lessons with him and still am. He has helped me take my game to the next level.

If you want to get better at pool Mike Yednak is the instructor that I would recommend to players of all levels. Many players are stuck at the same skill level for years because they just “hit balls”. Mike Yednak will show you how to “play pool”. Mike is supportive, knowledgeable, and extremely detail oriented during lessons. Mike will focus on the INDIVIDUAL, identify the flaws in their game and work on eliminating those flaws and replace them with solid fundamentals. Mike will ALWAYS give you 100%, if you are willing to do the same, your game will absolutely improve.

I would like to recommend Mr. Michael Yednak as my choice for a pool instructor. Michael excels at teaching the game of pool, but a couple qualities in particular make him stand above the rest:

1) Passion: Michael‘s passion for teaching billiards is unrivaled amongst most pool instructors in NYC. When meeting him in-person, you start to see that he is not only passionate about billiards itself, but passionate to teach and share what he knows with you. His love for the game is contagious and this leaks down to his students in a positive way.

2) Communication:  Michael is clear-minded, articulate, and possesses the gift of being able to effectively communicate to a student exactly what they need to hear. Whereas other instructors may follow a more one-size-fits-all, linear approach, Michael is willing to elaborate, discuss, or dissect “secrets” of the game with you. He is highly adaptable and can work with any student regardless of who they are.

Most billiard instructors love the game, but few can teach it like Yednak! This is why I highly recommend Michael for anybody looking to improve their pool game.

Its been an honor and privilege to go from watching one of my pool idols on television to having him train me in my very own home. With an introduction from a mutual friend Michael Yednak became not only my new personal instructor but a friend as well. Dispite all the videos and hours of training I spent on youtube and the pool table in my garage I felt as if I was still stuck like a writers block. I then reached out to Michael and within a few minutes he had sent me dozens of practice drills and video chatted me to keep updated with my practice. One week before my tournament for vegas cup, Michael surprised me and flew down to Virginia to put me through what I consider a billiard bootcamp. The results were unmatched, I ranked 2nd place that year going up against seasoned players, while it was my first year in the game. My lessons with him opened my eyes to a different love of the game and dedication that was inspired by Michael. I would highly recommend lessons to anyone from any walk of life and at any skill level. His patience and precision in training is truly unmatched and makes the videos on youtube have so much more meaning. If you are looking to learn the game, improve your game, or trying to go Vegas by winning big tournaments Michael Yednak is the man for the job!

I’ve taken lessons with Michael Yednak off and on for a couple years now and I’ve improved from a D to a strong C+ with occasional stints at B speed. Time is my limiting factor otherwise I’d be an A-B easily. The reason being is that Michael is still able to explain the physics of the ball movement. Unlike other pro’s I’ve taken lessons with that say things like, “you have to feel the shot…”, Michael explains what the action you’re supposed to take is and what the balls’ subsequent paths will be. He has a formula to calculate cue ball speed and travel distance as well as an aiming system that truly works. If you don’t believe me, listen to his commentary on Straight, 10 or 9 Ball Pro matches. Lastly, he places value on the discussion of the game as the discussion leads to mastery of the concepts being shared.
I highly recommend Michael Yednak for lessons if you’re truly looking to improve your overall knowledge and skills in
billiard sports.
